【EaaS】iCharging Builds Impressive 9.3MW Network in 6 Months

iCharging rapidly builds 9.3MW DC fast-charging network in six months, with 3.6MW in Taipei, urging residents to switch to EVs.

iCharging proudly announces the successful launch of its Taipei City EV Fast-Charging Demonstration Station on August 15, marking a significant milestone in Taiwan's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure development. In just six months, CHEM iCharging has deployed an impressive 9.3 MW of DC fast-charging stations across Taiwan (excluding AC stations), with 3.6 MW concentrated in Taipei alone. This achievement underscores the readiness of the capital's smart charging ecosystem, signaling a new era for EV drivers in the city.

iCharging has demonstrated unparalleled efficiency by establishing 42 DC fast-charging stations nationwide within half a year, with 21 of these strategically located in Taipei. Leveraging data from Dodo Home, Taiwan's leading parking provider with over 420,000 spaces, iCharging has solidified the "Park and Charge" service model. This user-centric strategy ensures charging stations are integrated seamlessly into the daily routines of EV drivers, extending from the city center outward. With Dodo Home's vast parking network, CHEM envisions a future where "iCharging is around every corner," alleviating the challenge for urban EV owners who cannot install home chargers. This innovative approach has gained widespread industry recognition, inspiring others to adopt similar models.

As a trailblazer in charging services, iCharging has set multiple industry benchmarks, laying the foundation for smart EV charging networks in Taiwan. In 2018, CHEM introduced innovations such as smart parking locks, license plate recognition systems, and multi-payment kiosks, while also managing EV parking spaces in Taipei. By 2022, the company became the first to enable highway charging via the LINE app during Lunar New Year. With over 66 years of expertise in reliable power management, iCharging remains the leading DC fast-charging network provider in Taipei. However, the company continues to expand its charging ecosystem with a prudent and strategic approach.

Beyond building dense urban charging networks and key transportation hubs, iCharging's long-standing commitment to smart parking services has greatly enhanced everyday convenience for the public. Dodo Home has led the market by fully implementing unmanned parking management, allowing drivers to enter and exit parking lots automatically, pay without leaving their vehicles, and enjoy credit card discounts on parking fees. This seamless parking experience has paved the way for iCharging's swift market adoption, winning the hearts of EV drivers across Taiwan.

To further reward its customers, from now until September 30, users charging at any iCharging station with a Dodo Home co-branded card will receive a 10% cashback on each transaction. (For more details, please refer to the Hua Nan Bank website for Dodo Home co-branded cardholder benefits.)

Under the Taipei City Government's EV Fast-Charging Pilot Program, iCharging has established three key fast-charging stations: Xinsheng Elevated (Jinzhou–Minquan East Rd.) Parking Lot, Xinsheng Elevated (Nanjing East Rd.–Chang’an East Rd.) Parking Lot, and Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant Park Parking Lot. The standard charging fee is NT$12 per kWh, with a discounted rate of NT$8 per kWh for iParking members. Despite the competitive pricing and prime locations, challenges persist with gasoline vehicles occupying EV charging spots. To address this, relevant authorities are reviewing and installing EV space management systems to improve accessibility and ensure an efficient charging experience for all users.
